Flower Care
🌸 Flower & Plant Care Guide
Helping You Enjoy Your Gift for Longer
💐 Bouquets & Mixed Flowers
-
Carefully remove any cellophane – it may contain water to keep flowers fresh in transit.
-
Cut stems at a 45° angle, about 3cm from the ends.
-
Stand the bouquet in deep water for at least one hour in a cool, shaded place.
-
Fill a vase with clean water and add the provided flower food.
-
Place flowers in the vase and top up water regularly.
-
Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, and draughts.
-
Some flowers may arrive in bud – this ensures longer-lasting blooms!
🌹 Roses
If rose heads begin to droop:
-
Re-cut the stem.
-
Wrap the head in paper to support it upright.
-
Submerge 5cm of the stem in boiling water for 30 seconds.
-
Re-cut the stem and place in deep, cold water for 2 hours.
🌸 Lilies
-
Lily pollen can stain. Gently remove stamens from newly opened blooms.
-
Avoid contact with clothing and soft furnishings.
💧 Hand-Tied Bouquets
-
Release the water reservoir by cutting a hole in the base over a sink.
-
Remove gift wrapping but do not untie the stems—they are professionally arranged.
-
Follow standard bouquet care instructions.
🪴 Arrangements (in Foam or Container)
-
Top up the water in the container daily.
-
Keep in a cool area, away from heat and direct sunlight.
🕯️ Candles
-
Candles are for decoration only. Do not light, as they may pose a fire risk.
🍎 Fresh Fruit in Arrangements
-
For display only. Do not consume.
-
Fruit may be secured with fixings and is not food safe.
🌿 Plants
-
Most plants prefer light and an even temperature.
-
Avoid placing in draughts, near radiators, or in smoky areas.
-
Watering tips:
-
Foliage plants need minimal water in winter.
-
Flowering plants (e.g. Azaleas, Hydrangeas) may require daily watering.
-
St. Paulia & Cyclamen – water from the base, not the top.
-
-
Fertilise as recommended for the specific plant type.
