At Flowers by Lucy, we're committed to sustainability and doing our part for the environment. When our fresh flowers arrive from Holland, they go through a careful preparation process. Each stem is trimmed, leaves are removed, and the flowers are placed into fresh water before being stored in our cold room—ready for our florists to create stunning hand-tied bouquets and fresh floral arrangements.

But our efforts don’t stop there.

We take great care in separating our flower waste by variety, as these offcuts are repurposed as bedding and feed for animals. We're proud to work closely with the Reptile Zoo in Kilkenny, ensuring that every leaf and stem is suitable for each species in their care. From snakes and lizards to tortoises, turtles, crocodiles, caimans, spiders, frogs, salamanders, and more—our floral waste supports the well-being of a wide range of reptiles and exotic animals.

Together, we're turning nature’s beauty into something that gives back—even after the bouquet is made.

At Flowers by Lucy, we’re passionate about doing our part to reduce our carbon footprint—within reason and with purpose. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do.

We’ve installed solar panels on the roof of our Flower Centre, significantly reducing our reliance on the electricity grid. This clean energy powers our workspace and helps us operate in a more environmentally conscious way.

We’ve also made a major green move by switching to a fully electric Citroën Dispatch van for our deliveries and daily operations. Even better—our van is charged using the solar energy we generate, making every delivery a cleaner one.

We believe in being as kind to the planet as possible—friendly to the environment, thoughtful in our choices, and proud of the steps we’re taking. Because every effort, no matter how small, helps shape a greener future.

Established in 1979 – A Legacy of Floral Excellence

With over four decades of experience, Flowers by Lucy is proud to be one of Ireland’s leading florists. In 2002, we moved from our original High Street shop to a custom-built Floristry Design Centre in Hebron Business Park, Kilkenny. This modern space includes a private Wedding Room for one-on-one bridal consultations and plenty of room for our growing team of talented florists.

We import our flowers and plants directly from Holland, ensuring freshness, quality, and longevity in every arrangement. From bespoke wedding florals to beautiful everyday bouquets, every order is crafted by professionals using expert design and top-tier packaging.

Ordering is easy—visit us online, call,  or stop by one of our locations. Our Hebron Flower Centre even offers a drive-thru service, with a cosy waiting room and free parking on site.
